Avatar, the expected 3D movie by James Cameron, delayed

James Cameron super production: Avatar, being shot in 3D in New Zealand and with postproduction by Weta digital, the visual effects company of Peter Jackson, was expected for release on May 22nd 2009, but has been postponed until December 2009.
One of the reasons given is that by then there will be more 3D theaters (obviously), but very likely, they should have found some technical issues too.

The impact of the release date of Avatar made other 3D productions change their own release dates, trying to avoid to collide when there are still not too many 3D theaters. Monsters vs Aliens, which booked the date of March 27th 2009 as expected release date did so. After the delay of Avatar, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are changes in expected release dates very soon.
